Here’s how much it costs to service the Proton Persona facelift

Besides previewing the 2019 Proton Persona facelift in full, the national carmaker also released its 5-Years’ Service Cost for the reference for future owners and potential customers. Proton claims that the service cost of the Persona is 32% lesser (on average) than its competitors.

This is just an estimate based on Proton’s service intervals of every 10,000 km or 6 months, inclusive of recommended parts change – Engine Oil Change, Service Labour and related consumables. This estimate does not take into account perishable consumables such as brake pads, bulbs and others.

The chart shows that the first year of service (1,000 km, 10,000 km & 20,000 km) would cost RM381.04 compared to the competitors total of over RM400. There is a hike in the third year of service, amounting to RM934.46 and that is largely due to the Persona requiring a major service at 60,000 km/36 months interval.

Over 5-Years (60 months)/100,000 km, expect to fork out a total of RM3,051.91 for service costs. This guide is particularly useful for buyers to get a clearer picture with the cost of ownership of a Persona beyond the monthly instalments, insurance and road tax.

What do you think, reasonable or too expensive?
