Final teaser before the new Mercedes-Benz CLA makes its global debut

The global debut of the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA is just around the corner and the company has just released a final teaser of what they will be showing at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) happening from 8 to 11 January.

In this extensive trailer, we can tell that the CLA will occupy a different space compared to the A-Class sedan. Differentiating cues include a sharper front end, fastback silhouette and a more intricate taillamp design with a three-dimensional look. All these are consistent with the brand’s promise of the CLA being the “most emotional vehicle of its class”.

Inside, the cabin appears to be taken lock, stock and barrel from the W177 A-Class from the widescreen cockpit, Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system – which will have improved functions – turbine air vents and centre console layout.

One feature that appears to be unique to the CLS is what Mercedes-Benz calls Interior Assistant which activates the passenger side reading light for better illumination. Not sure how does it add to the convenience but hey, another item to the add to the list of things that will impress your friends on top of the 64-colour ambient lighting.

The second-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA should feature the full range of powertrain options from the new A-Class starting from the 163 hp/250 Nm 1.33-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol up to the banging four-pot from AMG.
