Mercedes-Benz Malaysia delivered 10,143 cars YTD, new A-Class coming soon



Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) is on track for another record-breaking year as the three-pointed star recorded 10,143 deliveries since the start of 2018. This marks a 16 per cent increase compared to the same period last year resulting in a market share of 2.5 per cent.

President and CEO of MBM, Dr Claus Weidner said: “In the third quarter of 2018, we enjoyed bringing a host of updates to excite our fans and customers in the premium market segment. These continue to make up a tailored luxury lifestyle brand experience that is unique to Mercedes- Benz. Keeping our fans and customers in mind at all times, we are happy to continue raising the benchmark of our customer journey through MBM’s extensive network, electrifying product portfolio and unrivalled customer service.”

The breakdown of the 10,143 deliveries are as below:

Locally Assembled Limousines C, E, S-Class: 6,344 units, +21.1%

Premium Compact Cars A, B, GLA, CLA-Class: 1,268 units, +4%

Premium SUV range: 1,960 units, +3.4%

Dream Cars: 570 units, +40%

MBM’s sister company, Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia (MBSM) also recorded a strong portfolio growth with over RM932 million new contracts secured in the first nine months of 2018. Currently, MBSM boasts a finance portfolio size of over RM2.5 billion with 4 out of 10 new Mercedes-Benz vehicles financed and insured by the company.

The company is not looking to sit back and relax for the remainder of the year with six new products scheduled for launch in Q4 of 2018 starting with the long-awaited W177 A-Class hatchback that is set for debut on the 18th of October 2018. Other models teased include one limousine, three SUVs and one Dream Cars.
