Remember the Maserati Levante Eu Jin drove on snow in Northern Italy earlier this year? Well the new model is now available in Malaysia as an updated 2019 model.
The petrol-powered Levante will be offered in either GranSport or GranLusso trims. Updates in the new car includes a redesigned gearshift lever with shorter travel and improved operation.
With the GranSport comes a new front and rear bumper inspired by the Levante GTS and Trofeo. The GranSport can also be distinguished with front and rear Black Piano inserts, GranSport badges on the front fenders, red brake calipers and the 21-inch Helios wheels.
On the GranLusso, you’d find chrome inserts on the front bumper, chrome front and rear skid plates, silver brake calipers, GranLusso badges on the front fender and 21-inch Helios alloy wheels as well.
The GranSport is furnished with high gloss Metal Weave interior trims while the GranLusso offers the choice of full premium Italian leather, Pieno Fiore natural leather or Ermenegildo Zegna silk upholstery.
Standard equipment includes Soft Close doors, 12-way adjustable front seats, an electric panoramic sunroof with tilt and slide functionality along with a banging Bowers and Wilkins Surround Sound System.
Power output remains the same – with 430 hp and 580 Nm from a 3.0-litre twin turbo V6 built in Ferrari’s factory in Maranello. Paired with the slick 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with three drive modes (Off-road, I.C.E for Increased Control & Efficiency and Sport), 0 to 100 km/h is done in just 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 264 km/h.
The redesigned gearshift lever offers a more intuitive operation with a dual lane shift pattern. It allows the driver to choose between automatic or manual mode, simply by moving the lever from right to left. The “Park” button is now placed at the top of the gear lever.
With the “M button” (for manual mode) replaced by an “Off-road mode”, the drive mode cluster on the centre console is now less cluttered, with space for two additional switches – to activate the Sport mode and switch between the Skyhook suspension settings.
The 2019 Levante is also available with an updated Nerissimo package – with a selection of eight body colours, black trims on the front grille, skid plates and side mirrors.
Rear trunk accents, side air vents, the Trident on the grille and all the Maserati badges and logos are finished in Black Chrome. The package also dictates that the door handles and lower mouldings now follow after the body colour, with new 21-inch wheels.
The 2019 model Levante S is priced at RM 788,800.00 (inclusive of local taxes and duties) and a 3-year Standard Warranty coverage with no mileage restrictions in addition to the Maserati Premium Service Plus of 3 years/60,000 km whichever comes first.
