All-new Peugeot 508, Peugeot i-Cockpit & frameless doors! Geneva debut

Peugeot has just unveiled its all-new Peugeot 508 sedan ahead of its global debut at the upcoming 2018 Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS). The new D-segment sedan gets a radical ‘fastback’ design, latest generation Peugeot i-Cockpit and a range of highly efficient PureTech & BlueHDi engines.

Although still a practical five-door sedan, the designers took a sports coupe approach when penning the new 508. It boasts slim LED headlamps with mesh front grille, 508 badge on the front hood, tapering roofline, Lion Claw LED taillamps but the main highlight would have to be the frameless doors. Despite the low slug package, the 508 boasts 487 litres of boot space.

Open the frameless doors and you’ll be greeted with the latest Peugeot i-Cockpit design similar to the 3008 that includes small full grain leather wrapped steering wheel, 10.0-inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch heads-up digital instrument cluster, electronic gear selector and ambient lighting.

The all-new 508 will be available with six petrol and diesel engines with outputs ranging from 130 hp to 225 hp paired to either an automatic or manual transmission to drive the front wheels. This new flagship model will also come with class-leading advanced driver assistance systems including a unique night vision system that uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians at night.

Peugeot CEO, Jean-Philippe Imparato said: “The all-new Peugeot 508 is finally here. After the success of our latest high profile launches and our SUV offensive with the multi-award-winning Peugeot 2008 SUV, 3008 SUV and all-new 5008 SUV, with the all-new PEUGEOT 508 we carry the exact same ambition; to shake up the market with an outstanding new car that can compete with the best.”

More information of the all-new Peugeot 508 to be revealed during the global premiere at the 2018 GIMS.
