EXTERIOR

Perodua prides itself that the upper body design of the all-new Myvi is done completely in-house – by Malaysian designers and engineers. Daihatsu, Perodua’s strategic partner continues to provide technical assistance in the areas of product planning and production planning among others.

As standard, the all-new Myvi comes equipped with reflector type LED Headlamps – just like the Honda City and Civic, keyless entry/start and 14-inch alloy wheels. The 1.5-litre variants get additional goodies such as two-tone body kit (front and side skirtings), rear spoiler and larger 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

INTERIOR

Based on the teaser video, we can tell that it gets an all-new dashboard architecture with plenty of creature comfort features. Multi-functional steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, touch-screen infotainment system and Multi-Info Display (MID) all appeared in the teaser video. However, these are most likely reserved for the top spec variant.

The all-new Myvi will also feature a built-in SmartTag reader (1.5L variants only), flexible 8+1 seating arrangement, front seats side pocket and anti-snatch hook.

PERFORMANCE

Although on paper the two variants follow the same powertrain combination, they actually carry new engine codes. The 1.3-litre is now a 1NR-VE four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i unit producing 94 hp and 121 Nm of torque – 4 hp and 4 Nm up from the previous-gen. It can be had with a five-speed manual or a four-speed E-AT (automatic) transmission.

Under the hood of the 1.5-litre variant is a 2NR-VE four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i and four-speed E-AT pushing out 101 hp and 136 Nm of torque. Despite the same output figures as before, Perodua claims the new engine can return 20.1 km per litre.

SAFETY

Safety is perhaps the biggest improvement the new car has over its predecessor. As standard, all variants are equipped with four-airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). Airbag count is up to six on the 1.5L variants while the 1.5L Advance gets additional Advance Safety Assist (ASA) – advanced driver assistance system.

WHAT ELSE?

The all-new Myvi is available in six exterior shades – Granite Grey, Peppermint Green, Lava Red, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver and Ivory White. Bookings will be open from 9 November 2017 onwards and interested parties can head over to the 2017 Malaysia Auto Show where Perodua will be displaying the car in full. Buyers who placed their booking at the auto show will stand a chance to win exclusive prizes and special promos.
