Nissan Fairlady 370Z updated for UK, new trims & EXEDY performance clutch

The Nissan Fairlady nameplate has been around for almost 50 years and the latest generation 370Z is now serving its eighth year. Nissan is not ready to replace the two-door sports coupe just yet but Nissan UK has given the ageing girl a minor update for 2018.

Changes done to the exterior for the 2018 370Z include new black door handles, black rear bumper fascia, tinted headlamps and taillamps, five-spoke 19-inch alloys and Red Metallic exterior paint option. Inside, a 7-inch NissanConnect Premium touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, DVD player and rear-view camera is now fitted as standard.

Nissan UK has partnered with EXEDY to equip six-speed manual versions of the 370Z with a new EXEDY high-performance clutch which reduces driver pedal effort and gives greater gear shift precision and comfort. Nissan’s Syncro Rev Control which helps drivers to rev match on down and up shifts on a manual transmission remains in the EXEDY enhanced manual. However, Nissan did not reveal whether the new clutch contributes to improved performance.

Other than that, the 370Z solider on with a 3.7-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine pushing out 332 hp and 363 Nm of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission can be had for those who prefer to have the car shift itself. Drive remains to be channelled to the rear wheels.

The Nissan 370Z MY18 is now available for purchase in UK from £29,185 (RM161k).
