Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition marks five decades of the Fairlady

It’s hard to believe that the other Nissan sportscar, the Fairlady, has been around for almost 50 years. While the anniversary takes place by the end of the decade, Nissan gave the Fairlady an early celebration via the unveiling of the Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition for the United States.

It’s a minor enhancement from the standard 2018 370Z, offered with two exterior colours – Chicane Yellow and Magnetic Black, and each of them gets their own unique identity. The Chicane Yellow gets black side mirrors and gloss black graphics while the Magnetic Black is complemented by gloss silver graphics. Inside, both cars are finished with yellow interior trim.

The 370Z’s motivation comes from a 3.7-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine which deploys 332 hp and 363Nm of torque to the rear wheels. Transmission options include a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic, with the former gains a new performance clutch from Exedy.

The Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition will be showcased at the upcoming 2017 New York International Motor Show. The current 370Z will be turning 10 next year and just like the GT-R, their replacements are nowhere to be seen.
