Perodua has produced approximately one million Myvi, and counting…

Last weekend, one blue Perodua Myvi rolled out of the Perodua Rawang plant and it wasn’t just any ordinary Myvi. Well, bone stock it was, but it carries a significant meaning because it’s the one millionth Myvi to be produced, making it the most produced Perodua model ever.

To celebrate this milestone, Perodua held a special “line-off” ceremony at Rawang and was officiated by Perodua Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd (PCSB) President, Masanori Takahashi and PCSB Vice President, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Introduced in May 2005 and still on sale as a second-generation model, the Perodua Myvi was the nation’s number one car model until the end of 2014. The Myvi, together with other Perodua models such as the Bezza, Axia and Alza, are respective market leaders in their own segments.

However, Perodua has remained mum on the Myvi’s replacement, which is due soon. It looks like the third-generation Myvi would surface somewhere between 2018, if not 2019.
