2017 Mitsubishi ASX gets a mild update, only for United States

The Mitsubishi ASX, known as the Outlander Sport in the land of stars and stripes, has been given a minor makeover in which it will make its debut at the upcoming 2017 New York International Auto Show.

The updated ASX took some cues from Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design with the redesigned front and rear bumpers, and they have added a new exterior colour called Alloy Silver.

Inside, changes are minimal, with a new centre console that houses a 7-inch Smartphone Link display audio system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Touring Package is a new optional addition for this ASX. The package includes a panoramic roof together with a suite of active safety kit such as Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), and Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beam (AHB). The noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) have been improved as well.

Two engine options are available for the stateside, including a 2.0-liter engine that outputs 148 hp and 197 Nm of torque, while a 2.4-liter mill deploys 168 hp and 226 Nm of torque.

The current ASX has been around since 2010, and its replacement remains to be seen.
