Lamborghini Huracan Performante is mightier than the Aventador SV! [+Video]

We are days away from the full reveal of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante that is set to take place at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, but Lamborghini has already announced the Huracan Performante’s Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time – an unbelievable 6 minutes 52.01 seconds.

In June 2015 we witnessed how the Aventador SV lapped The Green Hell in just under seven minutes at the hands of Marco Mapelli, and once again he has been entrusted the keys to the Huracan Performante’s. As a result, the Huracan Performante smashed the big bull’s record by more than seven seconds!

The lap time was actually recorded on 5 October 2016, and Lamborghini claims that the Huracan Performante was actually a production version that’s simply camouflaged.

Full technical specifications and performance figures will be revealed during its official unveiling, but Lamborghini has hinted that the car will use a four-wheel drive system, yet still weighs less than the standard Huracan.

The production vehicle will be equipped with the same Pirelli Trofeo R rubbers that was used to set the lap record, and there’s some trick aero thingamajig called the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva). In the meantime, grab a nice pair of headphones and join Marco in the video below as he takes you for a lap round the Nordschleife. Just promise us that you won’t shout “mamma mia!” out loud.
