Leona Chin does it again, wins two P2 finishes at the Clio Cup China Series

After racing star Alex Yoong bagged centre stage at the Audi LMS Cup, another local star is making her way up in the international motorsports scene. Asia’s top female racer Leona Chin has just bagged two runner up positions in Round 9 and 10 of the Renault Clio Cup China Series.

The Renault Clio Cup China Series is a one-make series that is held over 12 rounds in five international circuits in China, including one in Korea. The recent rounds took place at the Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) where it served as support races to the Asian Le Mans.

As the only female racer among 13 cars competing, Leona fought her way through to the podium second with a personal best of 1:55:957 and 1:55:833 around the 4.3km circuit.2016 Leona Chin Wins Round 9 and 10 Clio Cup China Series

Despite missing the number one spot, Leona remained positive and focused. “Stay focus and never give up! Tough times don’t last, tough people do. I finished P2 again, it was a tough fight but I’ve tried my very best. Not very happy but this is what competition is about: you win some and you lose some,” said the 30-year-old lass.

Leona has one final chance to land a winner’s trophy at the last leg of the series that will be held at the Guandong International Circuit coming 11 – 13 November. We are rooting for you, Leona!
