Production of the RM1.74 million Ford GT continues for 2 extra years

Reception for Ford’s latest supercar, the Ford GT, has been overwhelming and as such, the company is planning to extend its production for two additional years! The next opening for order taking will take place some time in early 2018.

One of the main reasons for this move is to support Ford Performance in the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and World Endurance Championship (WEC) series events for the coming years, until 2019. With plans to race the Ford GT in these prestigious events, additional units are needed to support the races.

While the limited production series could not satisfy the demand for all applicants, Ford Performance said that they would like to satisfy some loyal Ford ambassadors with additional production. However, Ford Performance did not reveal just exactly how many extra units will be produced.

Applicants who were placed on the waiting list will be served by year three of production while year four will serve deferred applicants and those who missed the initial application window. The window for year four production will open in early 2018. Those who have already applied for the Ford GT will only have to update their request.

It will be in two years’ time if you would like to apply for one. However, good things are always worth the wait. Such as this 600hp beauty.
