Our national athletes are currently progressing towards the end of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. To show appreciation for their effort and achievements, DRB-Hicom and Proton Holdings have announced that they will be rewarding our Olympic medalists with brand new Proton cars when they return from the Games.

The company will reward a Proton Perdana 2.0 to any gold medalist, Suprima S Turbo Premium to silver medalist and Iriz 1.6 Premium to bronze medalist. Dato’ Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Group Managing Director of DRB-Hicom and Chairman of Proton Holdings said, “We hope that this will provide further encouragement to our athletes to strive harder to make our beloved Malaysia proud, especially at the highest level such as the Olympics.”

So far, our nation has bagged two silver and one bronze medals from Rio. The silver medalists are Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoong in the women’s synchronised 10m platform (Diving) as well as Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying in the badminton mixed doubles event.
