Those who have been patiently waiting for the Honda HR-V to come in the Dark Ruby Red Pearl colour, we bring you nothing but good news. Having debuted in the Honda City, Honda Malaysia is extending this shade of red to the HR-V.

The good news continues, because this option won’t come with additional cost. What’s more, all HR-Vs (regardless of trim) now come with 17-inch wheels as standard – one size larger than when it debuted. A total of four exterior colours are now offered: Taffeta White, Modern Steel Metallic (pictured below), Ruse Black Metallic and the new Dark Ruby Red Pearl.Mazda CX-3 vs Honda HR-V Comparo -

To help you get reacquainted with the HR-V, it is powered by a 1.8-litre SOHC four-cylinder engine that produces 140 hp and 172 Nm of torque. It’s also the same engine powering the ninth-generation Honda Civic, including the new Civic FC.

Honda Malaysia aims to sell 1,500 units of the HR-V a month. According to the company, the HR-V’s waiting list is now down to just two months tops, with the doubling of working shifts at the production plant. You can also have your HR-V with a “Rear Shelf”, an optional accessory which costs RM550. Read our review to find out if the Honda HR-V is the car for you!
