Hyundai Malaysia partners Shell Helix, gets specially formulated motor oils

Earlier this year, Shell Helix was named BMW’s only recommended supplier of genuine engine oil for aftermarket and motorsports use. Today, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) or Hyundai Malaysia announced that they will be exclusively using co-branded Shell Helix motor oils at all authorised service centres.

This takes immediate effect beginning December 2015 for Peninsular Malaysia, with the Eastern states slated to follow suit in January 2016. Two variants, the fully synthetic Shell-Hyundai Ultra AH and synthetic-technology Shell-Hyundai Helix HX 7 AH, have been specially formulated for Hyundai vehicles.

Shell Lubricants General Manager – Malaysia and Singapore, Leslie Ng said the decision by HSDM was a clear endorsement of the premium quality of Shell Helix motor oils. “We are delighted to supply HSDM with high-quality motor oils that offer proven benefits to Hyundai owners in the form of superior engine performance and protection; cleaner engines and better fuel economy,” added Leslie.

However, the partnership between Shell Helix and Hyundai go beyond Malaysian borders. These specially formulated co-branded engine oils will also be recommended in Hyundai workshops across the world, where customers in over 70 countries will benefit from Shell’s most technologically advanced lubricants.
