Lotus Cars Malaysia has introduced the limited edition Elise Great Britain and the Exige S automatic, both of which will be displayed at the North Atrium at the Gardens Mall from 5 to 9 August.
The Exige S gets the brand’s automatic gearbox – Intelligent Power Shift (IPS) that’s paired to the existing 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine. Lotus claims that the automatic will do the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 3.8 seconds (top speed 261 km/h), which is 0.1 seconds quicker than the manual. Its engine makes 345 hp at 7,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Weighing in at just 1,182 kg, this sports car has a power to weight ratio of 293 hp per tonne, a number that’s better than the Audi R8 V10’s!
On the other hand, the limited edition 924 kg Elise Great Britain is built atop the recently introduced 20th Anniversary Elise which comes with Sport Pack as standard. The pack gives you Union Jack decals on the side intakes, lightweight forged wheels, lightweight centre console, lightweight black cloth trimmed sports seats and Bilstein Sport Dampers. There’s also a Sport Mode that increases throttle response and alters traction slip thresholds for enhanced driver control.
Available in three colours, the Elise Great Britain can be yours in Metallic White, Metallic Yellow or Metallic Silver, all of which will come with soft top and Black Style Pack, giving you matte black wheels and rear diffuser.
The Elise is fitted with a supercharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, belting 217 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It sends drive to the rear wheels via a six-speed close ratio manual transmission, and propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds before reaching a top speed of 234 km/h.
First three owners of the Elise Great Britain will enjoy a complimentary Touring Pack on top of the Sport Pack. This replaces the fabric sports seats to Ebony Black leather sports seats. Lotus Cars Malaysia is taking orders for both cars, with the Elise priced at RM254,888. Both cars are joined by two other models; Evora S Sport Racer and Elise 220 Cup.
