How does 100,000 kilometers on a single set of tyres sound to you? If you’ve heard of Goodyear’s DuraPlus tyres – the very tyre to break the magic lifespan mark of 100,000 km, then we have good news for you. Goodyear Malaysia has introduced the Assurance DuraPlus tyre that is said to provide better protection against road hazards while still able to cover up to 100,000km of tarmac.
To achieve such longevity, the DuraPlus tyre compound benefits from more carbon content, and in doing so makes the tyres harder. Also, the incorporation of TredLife Technology creates a larger tread width design. This cavity-shaped tread puts more wearable rubber in contact with road surfaces, boosting lifespan. This hard compound tyre is also more durable thanks to use of kevlar, giving drivers extra protection against a variety of road hazards. Rubber volume is also maximised here, and combine that with the deep tread, you get – you guessed it – more kilometers to the rubber.
To put things into perspective, you can drive from KL to Bangkok over 66 times before needing to replace these tyres. If that wasn’t enough, Goodyear Malaysia is also giving customers an extra peace of mind when purchasing any tyres under the Goodyear Malaysia’s Worry Free Assurance Programme. Any tyres under the Assurance range, if damaged and deemed irreparable, will be replaced for free should the tread depth remain over 6.7mm.
If the tyres are damaged with a tread depth of 5.5mm to 6.5mm, Goodyear will credit against the purchase of a new tyre of the same size and model. You may refer to the table below for the current tyre sizes and its pricing:

Prices start from RM226 to RM325 including GST. As of now, only seven sizes of the Assurance DuraPlus will be offered nationwide, while the remaining 36 sizes will be introduced periodically throughout the next 12 months.
