Honda City facelift teased, Thailand launch in January 2017

The Honda City facelift is set to be launched in Thailand on 12 January 2017, following a few teaser images from Honda Thailand. The current, fourth-generation Honda City has been around since 2014, making it rather timely for the popular B-Segment sedan to receive an update.

Unsurprisingly, the City will borrow several styling cues from the Honda Civic FC. The headlights receive LED daytime running lights, a new chrome grille and new fog lamps. An updated alloy wheel design can be expected.2017-honda-city-facelift-3

As per most Honda facelifts, there won’t be changes to its mechanics, therefore the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine and the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) setup will be retained. The four-cylinder mill develops 119 hp and 145 Nm of torque, which allows the car to reach 100 km/h from standstill in 10.6 seconds.

Honda Malaysia will definitely introduce the new City next year, a few months after its Thai debut. Currently, four variants of the City are offered in Malaysia. The locally assembled City begins from RM76,100 to RM92,000.
