Over in its native Middle Kingdom, the Leapmotor B10 has received a significant update despite only being on sale for over a year. Leading the charge of upgrades, quite literally, is a new 800V architecture for the higher-end variant, along with improved performance.
The updated C-segment crossover retains the rear-drive layout, but the single motor sees outputs raised to 245 hp and 255 Nm of torque, up by 27 hp and 15 Nm. The result is a century sprint time that is almost a second and a half quicker with a time of 6.6 seconds.

Keeping up with the higher output, the base model’s LFP battery sees its capacity increased from 56.2 kWh to 60.8 kWh. That translates to an increased range of up to 540 km but on the ambitious CLTC cycle, meaning the more realistic WLTP range should be around 400 km.
The flagship variant gets a little more of everything with 252 hp and 260 Nm of torque as well as a slightly larger 69.7 kWh battery. Even the century sprint time drops to 6.4 seconds. With the larger pack, the estimated WLTP range should be approximately 450 km.

Switching to a 800V architecture has allowed for DC fast charging, with 30-80% now taking 16 minutes on the range-topper. The base B10 still runs on a 400V architecture, meaning 21 minutes for the same state-of-charge. On the other hand AC charging for the 60.8 kWh models will take five hours with the 69.7 kWh models needing 5.7 hours.
Despite the substantial improvements under the skin, cosmetically the new Leapmotor B10 in China is practically untouched. It does get larger 19-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels for the flagship trim and some new colour options.

Inside, things take a little step-up though. The entire centre console with its open layout with the drop-down cupholders, wireless phone charger and double smartphone holders are gone, replaced by a much more conventional bridged piece that houses fixed cupholders.
If you remember, the passenger side of the dashboard had six holes that were meant for accessories? That has been sealed and the accessories now mount magnetically. The infotainment screen measures 17.3 inches across with a smaller 8.8-inch display for the instrument cluster. Completing the interior is a 14-speaker setup and one-touch reclining front sears with an ottoman function.

Here in Malaysia, the B10 is available in two variants, an entry-level Life with a 56.2 kWh battery and 361 km range, while the flagship Design gets a larger 67.1 kWh battery and 434 km range. Pricing is RM107,800 and RM118,800 respectively.
Will this upgraded B10 make it here in the near future? It could definitely happen, as the 800V Plus variant of the larger Leapmotor C10 is now being brought in here as a fully imported CBU unit, while the 400V standard variant continues to be locally assembled here in Malaysia.
The B10 could follow similar approach too, with pre-production works for the model slated to begin sometime this month.
