Toyo Tires has launched the Proxes Comfort in Malaysia, the first of three new Proxes series models scheduled for release over the next three years. Engineered in Japan, the tyre caters to modern mobility, especially the surge in adoption of electrified vehicles, which has increased by over 300% in the last four years, according to the company.
The Toyo Proxes Comfort is engineered with an advanced tread compound and a reinforced internal structure to improve high-speed stability and braking. The tyre features an optimised profile that reduces strain on the bead and belt edges, ensuring consistent ground contact during high-speed cornering and lane changes.
To address the uneven contact pressure and reduced stability common in conventional groove designs, Toyo Tires has introduced a new Dynamic Taper Design technology for the Proxes Comfort. This technology helps maintain more consistent road contact in all driving situations, improving pressure distribution and enhances block stiffness for stable handling and traction during heavy rain or sudden stops.
Safety performance on the Toyo Proxes Comfort has seen significant upgrades over its predecessor, the Proxes CF2, with dry braking distances reduced by 8% and wet braking distances by 13%. Designed primarily for B-, C-, and E-segment vehicles, the tyre is currently available in 14 sizes between 16- to 19-inches.
In response to the adoption of electrified vehicles in Malaysia, most variants of the Toyo Proxes Comfort carry Extra Load (XL) ratings to accommodate the higher weight requirements of BEVs, HEVs, and PHEVs. Among the available sizes, 11 are classified as EV-ready, featuring 5/5 ratings for noise reduction and ride comfort.
Recommended retail prices for the new Proxes Comfort range from RM279 to RM698, depending on the size. Drivers can now visit any authorised Toyo Tires dealer to purchase the new range.
