2026 XPeng G6 Standard launched as new entry-level variant – smaller 68.5 kWh battery, 252 hp, from RM160k

Following the launch of its facelift update in Q4 last year, Bermaz XPeng has now introduced a new entry-level XPeng G6 Standard variant for the 2026 model year, with a starting price of RM159,948 on the road and without insurance.

This makes the new XPeng G6 Standard variant roughly RM20,000 cheaper than the rear-wheel drive (RWD) Long Range, and about RM30,000 cheaper than the all-wheel drive (AWD) Performance variant. Naturally, the car won’t be as generously equipped but will retain much of the model’s core design and technology.

The biggest change is what lies underneath the car. Powering the entry-level XPeng G6 is a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 252 hp and 440 Nm of torque, 40 hp less than the RWD Long Range variant. With less power, the new Standard variant completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in a slightly longer 6.94 seconds, while top speed is maintained at 202 km/h.

The new XPeng G6 Standard also utilises a smaller 68.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, translating to a a driving range of 480 km (WLTP). For context, higher-end models feature an 80.8 kWh battery with a driving range of 525 km (WLTP) for the RWD, and 510 km (WLTP) for the AWD variant.

Still built on the same XPeng 800-volt architecture, the DC fast charging rate of the new Standard variant is interestingly lowered to 382 kW (451 kW DC charging on higher-end variants). Thanks to its smaller battery size, a DC charge from 10-80% is maintained at just 12 minutes, while 11kW of AC charging from 5-100% is faster at 7.3 hours

Visually, the entry-level XPeng G6 remains largely unchanged from the facelifted model introduced last year. The most noticeable change will be its new 18-inch wheels with plastic coverings for improved aerodynamic performance. Here, they are wrapped in Maxis Waltz MS2 tyres, while higher-end variants sport 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres. Standard exterior features include:

  • Auto-sensing LED headlights:
  • Full-width integrated front light bar
  • “Galaxy lightsaber” LED taillights
  • Power-operated flush door handles
  • Powered tailgate
  • 18-wheels
  • Keyless entry

The XPeng G6 Standard will continue to be offered in the full suite of colours, which include: Arctic White, Graphite Grey, Midnight Black, Silver Frost, and Steller Purple. Of course, the Black Edition will only be reserved for the flagship AWD Performance variant.

Inside, the entry-level XPeng G6 retains the facelift’s updated cabin layout, most notably adorned by its 15.6-inch centre infotainment display and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. To bring its price down, certain luxuries have been removed, such as Nappa Leather upholstery, suede ceiling pillars, and massaging front seats. Standard interior equipment include:

  • 15.6-inch central infotainment display
  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 16-speaker XPeng XOpera Sound System
