The Perodua Traz measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. For comparison, the Proton X50 and Chery Tiggo Cross are longer and wider, but the Perodua Traz boasts the longest wheelbase among the three.

Its exterior design is similar to its sister-model, the ASEAN-region Toyota Yaris Cross, although there are a few key differences. The main one is the design of the front grille, alongside a different front bumper design.

Towards the rear, the Perodua Traz shares its taillights with its Toyota cousin, but it features a different rear bumper design. Instead of the blacked-out design with a centre silver piece found on the Toyota, the Traz has a completely body-coloured look. Otherwise, standard exterior equipment on the Perodua Traz includes:

Both variants of the Perodua Traz are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, making 106 hp and 138 Nm. This is paired with a D-CVT gearbox that drives the front wheels. Claimed fuel consumption figures according to the Malaysian Driving Cycle (MDC) are 21.3 km/L.

The Perodua Traz features six airbags as standard and is equipped with Perodua’s suite of Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) systems, but lacks adaptive cruise control on both variants. The safety features on the Perodua Traz include:
