Suzuki Cars Malaysia has launched its fourth model in the country, the Suzuki Fronx, aiming to be its first mass-market model. It is available in a sole, fully-imported (CBU) variant, priced at RM147,888, on-the-road, excluding insurance.

Positioned as a B-segment crossover, the Suzuki Fronx measures 3,995 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, 1,550 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. This puts the Fronx comparable in size to the Perodua Ativa.
Powering the Suzuki Fronx is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine paired to a 12V mild-hybrid setup, comprising a belt-driven starter generator (BSG) and a lithium-ion battery. Combined, this powertrain produces 103 hp and 135 Nm, sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with a 37-litre fuel tank, the Suzuki Fronx has a range of over 700 km (WLTP).

Compared to many of its newer competitors with interior controls buried within the centre infotainment system, the Suzuki Fronx offers plenty of physical switchgears and buttons, including toggle switches for the single-zone automatic climate control and buttons for the 360-degree surround view camera.
The Suzuki Fronx’s interior is equipped with a 9.0-inch touchscreen system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and is paired to a semi-analogue gauge cluster that houses a small 4.2-inch colour LCD display. The driver is equipped with a head-up display (HUD) and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel. Boot space is rated at 308 litres, which can be expanded to 605 litres with the rear seats folded.
