The Volvo Padel Open is returning for another instalment in 2025, and registrations for what is Malaysia’s first and largest padel tournament is now open! Interested parties can sign up via the tournament’s mini site, linked here. Registrations are open from now until 3 July 2025, or until all slots are full – so act fast if you don’t want to miss out.
Volvo Padel Open 2025, slated to take place from 21 June to 27 July 2025, is held in partnership with three established Klang Valley padel clubs – Joy Division Padel, Padelground, and PadelKu. Open for up to 320 participants across three categories – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced – prizes for the winners include cash, merchandise, court hours, and an exclusive seven-day experience in a fully-electric Volvo model in a total prize pool worth more than RM180,000.
For your chance to win, participants are required to furnish a one-off registration fee of RM160 per participant, or RM320 per team – but Volvo car owners will enjoy an additional 50% off individual entry fees, making it just RM80 for a whole lot of fun.
And fun is definitely guaranteed, as one of the main aims for this year’s tournament is to increase on-court time for all participants. That includes complimentary coaching clinics for participants in the Beginner and Intermediate categories, for players to gain confidence and useful tips prior to the tournament.
Additionally, participants in the Beginner category will also be given more time to compete with the introduction of a new “americano” format for the qualifying rounds this year. Participants register as individuals but take turns partnering with others in their group, accumulating team points with every match.
Only the 16 top male and female players in this category will be paired up through men’s and women’s divisions in the semifinals, giving participants more chances to experience diverse styles of gameplay with different players.

As for the Intermediate and Advanced categories, participants will register as teams from the start, with a choice between either men’s or mixed divisions. Qualifiers will be played as round-robin matches in sets of up to five games, advancing to elimination matches played in sets of up to seven games before the finals are played in a full match format.
To ensure fair matches for all, participants in the Beginner and Intermediate categories this year will have to undergo mandatory player assessments by professional coaches to verify their actual skill levels.
The finals for all categories will be held at Joy Division Padel’s new premises, located at Jalan Penchala, Petaling Jaya (JOY2) boasting two tournament-level courts. The finals are open to public spectators, with complimentary hospitality only for all Volvo Padel Open participants.
Volvo Padel Open 2025 is also supported by a wide variety of sponsors, including Tactical Padel for official tournament balls, merchandise, and winner prizes, Glacéau vitaminwater as the official energy drink courtesy of Coca-Cola Malaysia, and Directors’ ThinkTank as the creative production partner.
