Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has officially launched the all-new second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT63 4Matic+ today. This beast features the same good ol’ fire-breathing 4.0-litre Bi-turbo V8 as before, and will start from RM1,882,888, on-the-road and without insurance.
This all-new second generation AMG GT deviates from its predecessor as it now shares the same chassis with the Mercedes-AMG SL. It still maintains the iconic shape of its predecessor, but now takes on a slightly more proportionate bonnet to cabin ratio measuring at 4,728 mm long, 1,354 mm tall, and 1,984 mm wide, with a 2,700 mm long wheelbase.
The front is dominated by the gaping AMG front grille and is flanked with simplified side vents to channel air through the wheel wells. The headlights are rounder in shape compared to its SL siblings, with three “light dot” day-time-running lights.
At the rear, the taillights echo the front-end theme with the same distinctive three “light dot” design. The car sports aggressive-looking quad tailpipes, complemented by a rear diffuser and a retractable rear spoiler to enhance aerodynamic performance—more on that shortly.
Standard exterior equipment are as such:
- AMG Panamericana front grille
- AMG Exterior Carbon package
- AMG Night package II
- LED headlights and taillights with three “light dot” design

- Keyless-Go with flush-fitting door handles
Stepping inside, the interior sports a very similar layout to its SL counterpart. The car features an 11.9-inch central infotainment display and is paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The interior is generously trimmed in carbon fibre to signify the sportiness and significance of the vehicle.

Most importantly, the second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT63 4Matic+ still inherits the same “one-man, one-engine” 4.0-litre Bi-turbo V8, sending power to all-four-wheels via a nine-speed Speedshift MCT transmission, an electronic rear limited slip differential, and the AMG Performance 4Matic+ fully variable all-whee-drive system. Performance specs are as such:
- Engine: 4.0-litre Biturbo V8
- Transmission: AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission
- Driveline: AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully-variable all-wheel drive system

The AMG GT63 4Matic+ comes equipped with Mercedes’ advanced Active Roll Stabilisation system, which works in tandem with the AMG Active Ride Control suspension. This setup continuously adapts to driving conditions, enhancing ride comfort and handling dynamics in real time. Paired with rear-axle steering, it boosts high-speed stability while also improving low-speed manoeuvrability, making the AMG GT 63 feel agile in the city and composed on the track.
The Mercedes-AMG GT63’s aerodynamics are enhanced by active systems inspired by Formula 1, including a retractable rear spoiler and a two-part AIRPANEL air control system. While traveling at speeds of 80 km/h, the car can lower by around 40mm which creates a Venturi effect that sucks the car to the ground. Working together with the aerodynamic systems, it keeps it firmly planted at high speeds allowing for better cornering ability. Braking is handled by a dual-circuit hydraulic system—one circuit for the front and one for the rear—ensuring strong, consistent stopping power even if one fails.
Safety wise, the Mercedes-AMG GT63 4MATIC+ benefits from Mercedes-Benz’s Driving Assistance Package as standard which includes:
- Adaptive lane keep assist
- Distronic Plus with cross-traffic assist
- Evasive manoeuvre support
- Adaptive highbeam assist plus
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
- Guard 360-degree vehicle protection plus
- Active Parking Assist
- Mercedes-Benz emergency call system
