Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor of Ford in Malaysia has just released a teaser for a new Limited Edition Ford Ranger for Malaysia. The teaser comes in the form of a vertical video captioned “Witness the storm brewing, set to make its mark. Catch it on May 30th at 1 Utama Shopping Centre”. Judging by the word “storm” in the caption and the colour scheme of the video, it is likely the Ford Ranger Stormtrak which is already available in Thailand.
The vertical video shared by SDAC depicts a storm (no doubt) and several close-up shots of the new limited edition Ford Ranger. The close-ups include that of the “Race Red” accent on the wheels and the auxiliary driving lights on the grille. The Ford Ranger Stormtrak is pretty much a beefed-up version of the Ford Ranger Platinum as SDAC says that is “riding on the outstanding response of the Ford Ranger Platinum”.
The new limited edition Ford Ranger, or the Stormtrak will be unveiled for public viewing from May 30 to June 2, 2024 at Ground Floor Luxe, 1 Utama Shopping Centre (new wing). SDAC invited you to “take the opportunity to get up close and personal with rugged, yet premium model designed to elevate the outdoor experience”.
The new limited edition Ford Ranger will be available for booking starting May 30 and it bookings will have to be done online here. As a limited edition offering, customers who secure their bookings online will receive a complimentary limited edition Ford Ranger windbreaker upon vehicle delivery, adding an exclusive touch to their upcoming adventures.
In Thailand, the Ford Ranger Stormtrak is sold alongside other 4×4 double cab versions of the Ranger like the Raptor, Wildtrak, and Sport. Like the Ranger Platinum, it features a sliding rack system. It also features items like unique 20-inch alloy wheels, an e-shifter, auto brake hold, active park assist, and a special grille. It is powered by a 2.0L biturbo diesel engine.
SDAC has yet to announce how many units of this limited edition Ford Ranger will be available in Malaysia. For more information, we’ll have to wait until May 30th.
