Volvo EX30 EV SUV teased, June 7 world premiere – Something small is coming

After introducing the EX90, Volvo will soon unveil the Volvo EX30 to the world, its small fully electric SUV. Volvo has previously teased its “small electric SUV” during the presentation of the Volvo EX90 and has now released an official teaser for the Volvo EX30.

During the presentation of the Volvo EX90, the EX30 was teased right next to the EX90 by only showing its rear three-quarter silhouette. We caught a glimpse of the taillight design and got a bit of an idea of how large the small EV SUV would be.

Now on Volvo’s official website, it is stated that “the new, fully electric Volvo EX30 SUV will make its global debut [On June 7 at 13:30 CEST]. On the same date, it will also become available to order or pre-order in selected markets.”

In the latest teaser video, we get a glimpse of the Volvo EX30’s headlight design which seems to feature a continuous LED strip, albeit with a dotted-line appearance. We also get a glimpse of the camera located underneath the side view mirror of this upcoming small electric SUV. Like other Volvos, it also features the small Swedish flag detail on the front seat.

Like the initial teaser during the EX90 briefing, the new teaser still shows the EX30’s rear three-quarter silhouette, albeit with a bit more angle variations. Besides that, we also get to see the hood of the EX30 which features a rather prominent indent. Look hard enough, and it seems that the EX30 sports a 5-spoke wheel design, almost like the wheels on the original Volvo C40.

No technical details have been shared on the Volvo EX30 but do expect it to inherit some technologies from its bigger brother, the EX90. It will reportedly be smaller than the XC40 or C40.

Only teased with the tagline “Something small is coming”, the Volvo EX30 will make its world premiere on June 7, 2023. It will be Volvo’s second car in the “EX” series and the brand’s fourth electric car after the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, the C40, and the EX90.
