TC Subaru Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in Malaysia has just introduced a new variant to the Forester line up, the Subaru Forester 2.0 STI Performance. This time, it’s not just slapping on STI aesthetic bits but genuine mechanically enhancing STI parts.
Let’s start with the visual bits, the Forester STI Performance now gets additional STI front and rear under spoilers, STI front grille, cargo step panel while the cabin gains leather seats with red accents, premium carpet mats, side sill plate as well as STI leather shift knob.
Buyers who opt for the STI Performance variant will be happy to know that their Forester will come with an STI Flexible Tower Bar (front strut bars), STI brake pads and STI air filter – giving the SUV incremental improvements to the handling, braking and engine response.
Despite that, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine still produces a maximum output of 150 hp and 198 Nm of torque. The naturally aspirated mill is paired to the same Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that drives all four wheels via the brand’s famed Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (S-AWD) system.
Other onboard technologies that make the Forester safe on and off-road include seven airbags, X-MODE, Hill Descent Control (HDC), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) and others. The Subaru Forester 2.0 STI Performance can be yours for RM135,288, on-the-road without insurance.
