iCaur V23 previewed in Malaysia – up to 211 hp, RWD and AWD variants, est. from RM145k

iCaur Malaysia has officially previewed the iCaur V23 in right-hand drive form for the first time. Previously shown as a left-hand drive model at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the SUV now makes its official local debut wearing the updated iCaur nameplate, and is set to be launched soon at an estimated starting price of RM145,000.

The iCaur V23 stands as the more retro-futuristic-looking sibling to the iCaur 03 that was launched in Malaysia last month. It sports rounded headlight designs, with rugged bumpers that somewhat pay homage to the Jeeps and Land Cruisers from half a century ago.

Along the sides, the iCaur V23 rides on 19-inch wheels that are upgradable to 21 inches in size, tucked within squared-off fenders that reinforce its rugged, off-road character. The doors sport distinctive flush-mounted handles, complemented by side steps for easier access. At the rear, a square spare tyre cover completes the off-road look—but instead of housing a spare wheel, it cleverly doubles as a storage compartment for the charging cables.

In China, much of the V23’s exterior can be personalised with a range of add-on accessories and attachments. Whether these customisation options will be offered in Malaysia remains to be seen.

Inside, the iCaur V23 largely mirrors the left-hand drive model shown earlier this year. It features a large central infotainment display but seems to have excluded the compact circular driver display. The retro-futuristic theme continues throughout the cabin, highlighted by boxy air vents and rotary knobs with a textured metallic finish.

The iCaur V23 will be available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and intelligent all-wheel drive (iWD) configurations. The RWD variant features a single electric motor producing 136 hp (100 kW) and 180 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 11 seconds and a top speed of 140 km/h. Power is sourced via a 59.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that delivers up to 401 km of range under the NEDC cycle.

The iWD version adds a front-mounted electric motor rated at 75 hp (55 kW) for a combined output of 211 hp and 292 Nm, enabling a century sprint in just 7.5 seconds, along with the same top speed. This setup uses a larger 81.8 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery, providing a range of up to 501 km (NEDC).

To juice it up, the RWD supports up to 85 kW of DC charging while the iWD variant is capable of 104 kW of DC charging. Both variants will still have support for 6.6 kW of AC charging, and 3.3 kW of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function to power your desired home appliances.

Safety-wise, the iCaur V23 will feature the company’s comprehensive suite of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package. Key features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and autonomous emergency braking. The car will also be kitted with a full-HD 540-degree Transparent Chassis Camera to make manoeuvring the car easier.

Prices for the iCaur V23 are estimated to start from RM145,000 and RM155,000 for the RWD and iWD variants respectively. Those who want to check out the car up close and personal can do so at Starhill Piazza, Kuala Lumpur, from 29 October to 2 November, between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
