The facelifted Chery Omoda 5 has been launched in Malaysia with a new name and a simplified lineup. The SUV is now known as the Chery O5 and is available in a single variant, down from the two offered previously. The new model is priced at RM116,800, on-the-road without insurance.
The facelift introduces a revised exterior design featuring a new front grille and updated daytime running lights (DRLs), the latter of which are taken straight from the electric Chery Omoda E5.

Beneath the skin, the Chery O5 receives significant mechanical upgrades. A new six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) replaces the previous CVT, though it is still paired with the same 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 156 hp and 230 Nm to the front wheels.
The chassis also sees a major improvement, with the rear suspension upgraded from a torsion beam to a more sophisticated multi-link setup.
Inside, the cabin layout remains familiar, retaining the same dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and the driver’s digital instrument cluster.
