GAC has rolled out its 30-millionth vehicle, achieving the milestone in only 29 years — making it one of the fastest Chinese automotive companies to hit the figure. Compared to the Japanese giants, Toyota and Honda, the company hit the milestone in almost half the time.
The milestone vehicle handover was held at the 30 Million Customers Appreciation Event at the company’s Guangzhou manufacturing plant, where guests from all over the world attended to witness the handover.
GAC first started expanding overseas in 2013. And after a decade of gradual overseas expansion, GAC accelerated sharply in 2025 with its “One GAC 2.0” global strategy.
This shifted overseas development focus from simple product exports to full-system global deployment. Since then, GAC has built four R&D centres, seven overseas plants, and nine parts warehouses worldwide, with over 746 sales outlets across 110 countries and regions
This new strategy boosted sales and exports, with GAC reporting in 2025 that it had exported over 130,000 vehicles. This represented a year-on-year increase of over 47%, ranking among China’s top eight self-owned brands by export volume.
Then in the first half of 2026, cumulative exports exceeded 120,000 units, jumping 132% year-on-year, while total cumulative overseas shipments have surpassed 540,000 vehicles to date
The celebration was concurrent with the rollout at multiple GAC manufacturing plants across the world. The GAC Honda P7, GAC Toyota BZ7, Aistaland GT7, Aion N60 and Hyptec S600 rolled off the production line in sequence as the 29,999,995th to 29,999,999th vehicles. The Milestone 30 millionth unit, a right-hand drive (RHD) GAC M8 PHEV, went to the famous Thai action star, Tony Jaa, where he was handed the keys to the car on stage at the customer appreciation event.

Looking forward, GAC plans to expand to reach an annual overseas sales of one million vehicles by 2030, across 120 countries and regions. The company is already building toward that target with fresh production capacity: its plant in Graz, Austria has just begun mass production of the AION UT, marking a solid step in localised manufacturing for Europe.
Meanwhile, in its Thailand plant, GAC’s main hub for right-hand-drive export vehicles, recently rolled off its 10,000th unit. A new model also began production at its Indonesia plant, strengthening supply for ASEAN markets.
Closer to home, GAC currently also assembles the GAC Emzoom and Emkoo at the Tan Chong Motor Assemblies (TCMA) plant in Segambut. The Emzoom is priced from RM116,800, while the Emkoo is priced from RM123,800, on the road and without insurance. Recently, the plant has also begun exporting left-hand drive units of the Emzoom to Vietnam.
