2025 Perodua Aruz gets new Vintage Brown colour, matte black accents – prices unchanged

Perodua has quietly released an 2025 update for the Perodua Aruz, specifically for the top-of-the-range AV variant. Changes here are merely aesthetics, with the updated Aruz AV now receiving a new Vintage Brown paint job option, a hue taken from the Perodua Alza’s palette.

Pairing the new brown exterior colour are the new matte black accents and trimmings for both its exterior and interior. Despite these cosmetic “upgrades”, prices remain unchanged. The Perodua Aruz X is still priced at RM72,900 on-the-road without insurance, while the updated AV variant remains at RM77,900.

The addition of the Vintage Brown paint job sees the Electric Blue option getting the boot; cursory checks on Perodua’s official website revealed that the latter colour is no longer available for the Aruz.

For the exterior accents, the matte black finish is now applied to the front grille and the alloy wheels. On the interior, the previous silver trims on the dashboard and door cards have been repainted in matte black.

Other than these changes, the 2025 Perodua Aruz remains largely unchanged to the car that first debuted in 2019, and continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-pot engine making 102 hp and 133 Nm of torque, all sent to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Aside from the mild update to the Aruz, Perodua is expected to launch at least two new models in 2025: one all-new “full model change (FMC)” model and another with a “minor change (MC)” facelift.

Looking at the brand’s current lineup, we think that the most likely recipient for the FMC update will be the Perodua Bezza, considering it was last updated in 2020. This is also likely spurred on by its main rival, as Proton is preparing to launch the next-generation Proton Saga.

Of course, we are expecting to see Perodua’s first fully electric (EV) model this year, following the yet-to-be-named model’s final preview at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025

The second national carmaker is targeting a range of around 400 km (NEDC) for its first EV, and will support 60 kW DC charging, all at an estimated sticker price of RM80,000. This would put it in direct competition with Proton’s upcoming eMAS 5 (stylised as e.MAS 5), which is also slated to be launched by the end of 2025.
