The sixth-generation Subaru Forester has just made its regional debut in Indonesia at the ongoing 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The all-new SUV model will be offered in a single variant in the Archipelago, priced at IDR736 million (approx. RM190k).
The Forester’s debut in Indonesia comes just a week after the model was spied on a trailer here in Malaysia, which could signal at a wider regional launch for the model. That said, it should be noted that Subaru in Indonesia is handled by a different entity other than Motor Image (a subsidiary of Tan Chong International), which represents the Japanese marque in many other ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, and Cambodia.
While the sixth-generation Subaru Forester is available in both pure internal combustion and hybrid guises, the C-segment SUV will be offered solely with a non-electrified 2.5 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine, pumping out 185 hp and 247 Nm.
As usual, power is sent to all four wheels through a Lineartronic CVT and an all-wheel drive system (with dual-function X-Mode), which translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 9.7 seconds, onward to a top speed of 205 km/h.
Standard equipment for the all-new Subaru Forester in Indonesia include LED headlamps, roof rails, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the sixth-gen model comes as standard with a portrait-oriented 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a wireless charging pad, 10-way powered driver’s seat with lumbar support, and a hands-free powered tailgate.
The all-new Subaru Forester in Indonesia also comes with the Subaru EyeSight advanced driver assistance systems as standard, powered by a stereo camera pair, wide-angle monocular camera, and radar sensors to enable front and rear autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with lane centring control, lane departure prevention assist, autonomous emergency steering, high beam assist, and rear cross traffic alert.
