Leapmotor announced on Weibo yesterday that it has reached a milestone of 800,000 total vehicle deliveries – achieved in just 10 years since its founding. The company credited the C10 as the top-selling SUV in its price segment, contributing significantly to this achievement.
The Chinese marque achieved the impressive milestone after delivering 45,067 vehicles in May, marking a 148.1% year-on-year increase, and the third consecutive month it has sat at the top of the sales charts among other Chinese new energy vehicle startups. Cumulatively, the company delivered 173,658 vehicles in the first five months of 2025.
The strong showing continues with international markets, where Leapmotor has exported over 17,200 vehicles between January and May this yearm placing it – again – at the top among NEV startups in China, CarNewsChina reports.
The Leapmotor brand is one of the youngest in China, having only been founded on Christmas Eve of 2015. What started as a pure-play battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand, Leapmotor started branching out to extended range electric vehicles in 2023. The wide selection of Leapmotor models in China include the T03, B10, C01, C10, C11, and C16.
Following its growth, Leapmotor went public in Hong Kong in 2022—becoming the fourth Chinese NEV startup to be listed, following Nio, XPeng, and Li Auto. The three NEV startups listed before Leapmotor was Nio, XPeng, and Li Auto. More notably, Stellantis also acquired a 20% stake in the company in 2023, and established the Leapmotor International entity to bring its cars overseas.

Although Leapmotor offers a wide range of models in China, only the Leapmotor C10 is currently available in Malaysia. The C10 features a single front-mounted electric motor producing 218 hp and 320 Nm of torque, powered by a 69 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that delivers a WLTP range of 424 km.
For 2025, Leapmotor has updated the C10 with improved charging capabilities. AC charging now supports up to 11 kW, while DC fast charging remains capped at 84 kW.
The updated Leapmotor C10 is now priced at just RM125,000 on-the-road and without insurance—a RM34,000 drop from the previous model year. This positions it much closer to the BYD Atto 3 and Proton eMAS 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7) in price, while offering a larger vehicle in terms of segment.
