At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025, BMW has unveiled the new BMW M2 CS alongside the BMW Concept Skytop, adding a new model to the exclusive “Competition Sport” series of coveted M-badged models.
But when BMW ‘unveiled’ the new BMW M2 CS, it was literally just that – they pulled the covers off, and that was about it. The German carmaker only provided some photographs of the M2 CS in its official press materials, stating that the car’s full specifications will be revealed at the official launch on May 28, 2025.
Nevertheless, this here is our first official look at the new “head of the family”, as the brand calls it in one of its earlier teaser, sans camo. Externally, the BMW M2 CS initially appears much like a standard BMW M2. However, as a CS model, it gains a new tailgate that incorporates an elaborate ducktail spoiler for improved aerodynamics, along with new alloy wheels finished in gold.
For the interior, BMW has only provided a photograph of the door card, which features the ‘CS’ wordmark within the speaker grille, replacing the BMW tri-colour from before. On the centre console, there also appears to be another ‘CS’ emblem, though it looks quite blurry in the image. Nonetheless, expect the interior of the BMW M2 CS to sport various exclusive CS-specific details.

We will have to wait till May 28 to know the power figures the all-new BMW M2 CS is capable of producing, but according to Autocar, it’ll reportedly come with 530 hp and 650 Nm from its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine.
If these reports are true, the BMW M2 CS would gain over 70 hp and 100 Nm of torque compared to the standard BMW M2’s powertrain, which delivers 460 hp and 550 Nm. Given the M2’s 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.1 seconds, expect the M2 CS, with its increased power and torque, to achieve the century sprint significantly faster.
Other reported specifications indicate that the BMW M2 CS may also be equipped with carbon ceramic brakes and a revised, track-focused suspension setup – all not too surprising, given that the ‘CS’ is supposed to be the most angry and feral version there is.
But of course, as we’ve mentioned multiple times by now, we will still have to wait for BMW to officially launch the M2 CS on May 28, 2025. Only then will we know what the BMW M2 CS is truly capable of; for now, a short wait is in order.
