2025 Denza D9 previewed in Malaysia – launch next week, 2 variants, priced below RM300k?

Denza Sime Motors has previewed the Denza D9, a fully electric (EV) MPV, ahead of its launch next week for Malaysia. Two variants will be on offer: the front-wheel-drive Advance and the all-wheel-drive Premium.

This upcoming luxury EV MPV measures 5,250 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,920 mm tall, with a 3,110 mm wheelbase. This makes it longer and taller than the Zeekr 009 but with a narrower profile and shorter wheelbase.

The highlight of the Denza D9’s exterior is it’s π (Pi) Motion front grille, distinctive Arrow Taillights, and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, creating a stately presence for the Denza D9.

Inside, both variants of the Denza D9 offer a luxurious experience. Second-row passengers are treated to captain’s chairs with 10-way power adjustability, a six-way adjustable headrest, leg rest, and massage function, plus integrated 5.5-inch screens on both seats for various vehicular and seat controls.

Standard comfort amenities in the Denza D9 include a central 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, a 14-speaker Dynaudio sound system, and three 50W wireless charging pads. Second-row passengers also enjoy a refrigerator conveniently located in the centre console, which can operate in temperatures between -6 to 50 degrees Celsius.

The premium variants gains Premium Nappa leather upholstery, a suede ceiling, real wood veneer trims, and a 12-inch head-up display (HUD).

While the Denza D9 is available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and full electric (EV) forms in China, export markets will only get access to the EV variants.

Powering the Advance variant is a front-mounted electric motor delivering 313 hp (230 kW) and 360 Nm, boasting an NEDC-rated range of 600 km. As for the Premium variant, it gains a rear motor for a combined output of 374 hp (275 kW) and 470 Nm, with a slightly reduced of 580 km (NEDC).

Both variants utilise a 103.36 kWh Blade battery pack. DC fast charging at 166 kW allows for a 30-80% charge in just 30 minutes, while 10 minutes of charging can add 150 km of range. AC charging is supported at 11 kW.

In the Premium AWD variant, The Denza D9 will also come with the DiSus-C Intelligent Damping Body Control System adaptive dampers, but the Advance FWD variant will have to make do with the Frequency Selective variable damping suspension as seen on the BYD Seal.

As standard, both variants of the Denza D9 has a comprehensive suite of advance driver assistant systems (ADAS), which includes:

  • Front cross traffic alert (FCTA)
  • Rear cross traffic alert (RCTA)
  • Adaptive cruise control (ACC)
  • Traffic sign recognition (TSR)
  • Lane departure warning (LDW)
  • Blind-spot monitoring (BSM)
  • Lane change assist (LCA)
  • Lane keeping assist (LKA)

Denza Sime Motors has not yet revealed pricing for the Denza D9 in Malaysia. However, as a reference, the luxury EV MPV is sold in Indonesia from approximately RM257,000, so we expect pricing for the Denza D9 to start below RM300k.
