Chery celebrates Malaysian Paralympics athletes with special vehicle delivery, exclusive discounts

To celebrate the efforts of our 2024 Paris Paralympic Games athletes, Chery Malaysia has recently delivered a pair of brand-new SUVs to our national heroes: A Chery Omoda E5 to men’s badminton gold medallist Cheah Liek Hou, and a Chery Omoda 5 to men’s shot put silver medallist, Muhammad Ziyak Zolkefli.

The special occasion to celebrate the blood, sweat, and tears the athletes shed during the games took place at Chery Malaysia’s Glenmarie showroom where the Paralympians purchased their cars with an exclusive discount.

Last year, Chery Malaysia started a special initiative where Malaysian Olympians and Paralympians in the Paris 2024 games will receive an exclusive discount on Chery vehicle purchases. Gold medallists will receive a 50% discount on SUVs such as the Tiggo 8 Pro, Omoda 5, and Omoda E5. Silver medallists, meanwhile, are eligible for a 30% discount.

All athletes qualified to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics are gifted a 15% discount for competing in the games, regardless if they have won medals or not.

In addition to the Paralympians and their families taking special delivery of the cars, Minister of Youth and Sports YB Hannah Yeoh, Ministry of Youth and Sports officials, the Paralympic Council of Malaysia, and Chery representatives were present to witness the day of recognition and celebration.

Paralympic powerlifter and gold medallist Bonnie Bunyau Gustin, who broke the world powerlifting record, had also booked the Tiggo 8 Pro. However, he was not able to attend the ceremony along with his fellow compatriots.

Similarly, Chery Malaysia has also rewarded badminton men’s singles, Lee Zii Jia, and men’s doubles, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik a Chery Tiggo 7 Pro each for their successes in the recent 2024 Paris Olympic Games. However, in contrast to the Paralympians, the bronze medallists in the Olympic Games received their SUVs for free.
