Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today announced a significant price reduction for the SUV, now starting at RM399,990, inclusive of the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP). This represents a price cut of nearly RM70,000!
VPCM attributes this price adjustment to positive developments in its local operations and favorable market conditions, allowing the company to pass on savings to customers.
Locally assembled (CKD) in Pekan, Pahang, the 2024 Volkswagen Touareg R-Line was launched in Malaysia last year, marking the local debut of the third-generation Volkswagen Touareg.
Despite the price cut, the Touareg’s equipment list remains unchanged in Malaysia. Available solely in the R-Line variant, it comes with a stylish exterior kit that includes Volkswagen’s IQ.Light HD LED matrix headlights. The exterior also features LED taillights, an illuminated rear logo, and distinctive R-Line trim.
Inside, the Touareg R-Line boasts a luxurious and technologically advanced cabin. Features include Active Climate seats, a 12.3-inch Digital Cockpit instrument display, and a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment display which supports both wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Music lovers will appreciate the 13-speaker, 730W Dynaudio Consequence sound system.

Powering the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line is a 3.0-litre V6 TSI engine that makes 340 hp and 450 Nm. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels via the Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
For added comfort, the Touareg R-Line is also equipped with air suspension with automatic self-levelling, which might make those journeys over rough country back roads more comfortable for everyone onboard.
The Volkswagen Touareg R-Line is now priced at RM399,990, inclusive of the VAP. This comprehensive package includes five years of free maintenance, a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, and five years of complimentary roadside assistance.
