2024 Nissan Kicks launched in Malaysia – 3 variants, priced from RM114K


Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has launched the highly anticipated Nissan Kicks e-Power in Malaysia at KLIMS 2024. Three variants are available: the VL (Mid Grade), the VLT (High Grade) and VLT (High Grade two-tone). Prices for the Kicks e-Power in Malaysia start at RM113,800 on-the-road without insurance.

Measuring 4,290 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, and 1605 mm in height, with a 2620 mm wheelbase, the Nissan Kicks e-Power is slightly wider but shorter than the Perodua Ativa for context.

The Nissan Kicks e-Power’s exterior draws inspiration from its larger sibling, the Nissan X-Trail, but with a more compact package. The sleek headlights and signature V-Motion front grille create a modern and dynamic look. The rear of the Kicks e-Power, with its distinctive taillights, further emphasises the family resemblance.

Standard exterior equipment on the Nissan Kicks e-Power in Malaysia includes:

Step inside the Nissan Kicks e-Power, and you’ll find a familiar interior of the Nissan Almera. The e-Power electronic gear shifter adds a touch of futuristic flair. An eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage, providing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Boot space is rated at 423 litres.

Standard interior equipment of the Nissan Kicks e-Power in Malaysia includes:

  • Semi-analogue gauge cluster with seven-inch TFT display
  • Eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto
  • Six-speaker sound system
  • Automatic climate control
  • 60:40 split-fold rear seats
  • Zero-gravity driver and front passenger seat

The VLT-variant gains access to a digital rearview mirror, a first at this price point, and a two-tone black and mocha brown leatherette upholstery. The VL variant meanwhile gets has black leatherette on the dashboard and black fabric seats with blue stitching.

The e-Power powertrain on the Nissan Kicks consists of a 129 hp and 280 Nm electric motor on the front axle, paired with an 82 hp and 103 Nm 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder “generator” engine, and a 2.06 kWh battery.

This unique configuration enables the Kicks e-Power to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 180 km/h.  More impressively, the e-Power system delivers exceptional fuel efficiency, with a rated fuel consumption figure of 21.7 km per litre (4.61 L/100km). This translates to an approximate range of 900 km with its 41-litre fuel tank.

In terms of safety, the Nissan Kicks e-Power is equipped with seven airbags as standard. The VLT variant further benefits from the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) features, which includes:

  • Rear cross traffic alert (RCTA)
  • Adaptive cruise control (ACC)
  • Blind-spot monitors (BSM)
  • 360-degree around view monitor with moving object detection

To recap, the Nissan Kicks e-Power is launched in Malaysia with three variants starting from RM113,800 on-the road without insurance. Prices include a five-year/100,000 km vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km warranty for EV components (high voltage battery, motor, inverter, and e-Power control unit).
