Mercedes-Benz opens new regional logistics centre in Johor, serving 20 countries across Asia Pacific

Mercedes-Benz has established a new regional logistics centre in Malaysia, located in Senai Airport City, Johor. Managed by Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd, the Regional Logistics Centre Malaysia (RLCM) will play a key strategic role in enhancing Mercedes-Benz’s after-sales services across 20 countries in the Asia Pacific region, cementing the brand’s commitment to making Malaysia a regional logistics hub.

Spanning over 1 million square feet, the RLCM manages the distribution of a wide range of products, including spare parts, accessories, and workshop tools for both Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and vans within the region.

The RLCM is equipped with state-of-the-art systems to enhance material handling, flexibility, workflow efficiency and improve logistics efficiency, such as an in-house warehouse management system, advanced autonomous forklifts, handheld scanners, mobile workstations, and a space-optimising Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) system.

In the future, RLCM also plans to adopt more autonomous systems, including automated storage systems, drones, and dimensional scanners, to further elevate its logistics capabilities. The facility aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2039, integrating environmentally sustainable practices to meet this goal. These efforts include generating renewable energy through an on-site photovoltaic (PV) system and earning the Green Building Index (GBI) certification.

Speaking during the launch ceremony, Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Chief Minister of Johor, said the RLCM marks a significant milestone in Johor’s economic development.

“Mercedes-Benz’s Regional Logistics Center Malaysia in Johor marks a significant milestone in our state’s economic development. This facility not only strengthens Johor’s role as a key logistics hub in Southeast Asia but also fosters talent development and provides valuable career opportunities for our people,” said Onn Hafiz.
