In a world increasingly dominated by silent electric motors, the roar of a V12 engine is a becoming even more of a rare and exhilarating sound. But at least, Aston Martin is trying to help with the all-new third-generation Vanquish. After a six-year hiatus, the iconic flagship grand tourer is back to make a statement – and a loud one at that, because the V12 is back, baby.
At the heart of the Aston Martin Vanquish lies a newly reworked 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, pushing its outputs up to 835 hp and a staggering 1,000 Nm of torque. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. 0-100 km/h takes just 3.2 seconds, and the Vanquish reaches a top speed of 345 km/h.
Not only have Aston Martin kept up with the model’s iconic V12 powertrain, the all-new Vanquish also embodies the brand’s classic design language and grand tourer bodystyle, featuring a long hood, a large grille reminiscent of the Aston Martin One-77, and a sleek roofline that tapers towards the back.
Seven unique light blades add a distinctive touch to the rear, while a large diffuser and quad exhaust tips hint at the monstrous power that lies within. And if you’re looking to make your Vanquish truly unique, you’ll be pleased to know that it offers the widest range of Q personalization options ever offered on an Aston Martin.
Inside, the Vanquish blends classic luxury with modern technology. The centre console features an array of buttons for those who prefer a tactile experience, while the overall design exudes elegance and sophistication. We do wish Aston Martin had retained the iconic analogue reverse sweep gauges, though.
Fancy owning one? The new Aston Martin Vanquish is now available for order, but be prepared to wait, as Aston Martin will only be building a maximum 1,000 units per year. With a price tag of around £400,000 (approx. RM2.2 million), it’s a car reserved for the fortunate few.
