Subaru brings Tokyo Auto Salon spirit to KL with special liveries and exclusive merchandise


TC Subaru is bringing a unique showcase to this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur (TAS KL), set to be held at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 8th to 10th November 2024. The showcase was previewed today at APW Bangsar to Subaru dealers, partners, and members of the media.

The TAS KL showcase will be headlined by two unique Subaru liveries created by Motorsport Playground applied onto the Subaru BRZ and Subaru WRX, and will be complemented by a limited-edition streetwear collection by Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC).

The liveries is inspired by Japanese engineering blended together with Malaysian heritage. Reflecting traditional Malaysian craftsmanship and culture heritage, the special liveries on the feature intricate Songket prints and Bunga Raya motifs, the latter replacing the traditional sakura blossoms.

This striking fusion, inspired by geometric shapes and rich symbolism, showcases the best of both worlds by adding a distinctive local touch to these iconic vehicles.

Subaru also participated in a thrilling time attack challenge at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit. A manual Subaru BRZ and a CVT-equipped Subaru WRX, both driven by professional racing driver Freddie Ang, were put through their paces.

The Subaru BRZ clocked a time of 2:42.211, while the Subaru WRX came in close behind at 2:43.472.

Want to take home a piece of the action? Subaru and PMC have teamed up to create an exclusive merchandise line consisting of t-shirts and racing shirts. Each item blends heritage and contemporary style and will be available for sale at the upcoming TAS KL at RM139 for the t-shirts and RM299 for the racing shirts.
