Stellantis is making a significant investment in the ASEAN region with the establishment of a new regional parts hub in Malaysia. This strategic move is set to enhance the company’s presence in the region and improve aftersales service for its customers.
Set to be operational in the first quarter of 2025, the company says the new hub will cater to the growing demands of around 20 countries in the India and Asia Pacific region, including Malaysia. This will ensure efficient access to parts for dealers and customers, reducing downtime and improving overall service efficiency, while also solidifying Malaysia’s role as a regional automotive hub.
This hub will stock parts for all Stellantis brands, including those currently sold in Malaysia, such as Peugeot and Leapmotor, as well as Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and RAM.
This initiative builds upon Stellantis’s “Built in ASEAN for ASEAN” roadmap in Malaysia. The strategy began with Stellantis taking over the former Naza plant in Gurun, Kedah, which will serve as a regional manufacturing hub.
Olivier Torchet, Head of Parts & Services, Stellantis India & Asia Pacific said, “The opening of our regional parts warehouse in Malaysia marks a significant milestone in our dedication to customer-centricity as we continue to better serve our customers across the India and Asia Pacific region.”
He adds, “Strategically located in a Free Trade Zone in Malaysia, this regional warehouse will allow us to improve parts availability, reduce lead time and enhance the overall service efficiency. It will also enable us to respond quickly to the growing needs of our customers while ensuring they receive the highest level of aftersales support.”
