The all-electric Leapmotor B10 pulls up to the Paris Motor Show

Leapmotor has unveiled its B10, a battery electric C-segment SUV that is directed towards the global market.

The reveal is a significant step in the carmaker’s global expansion plans, particularly in Europe as it marks the brand’s third model there. Since sales begun in the continent from September 2023, their dealership network stands at 200 outlets across 13 countries and the goal is to increase it to 500 by the end of 2025.

Underpinning the B10 is Leapmotor’s advanced LEAP 3.5 architecture, a highly integrated platform with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features, intelligent driving capabilities and a customisable digital cockpit. That means the B10 is technically more technologically advanced than the C10 that was launched in Malaysia yesterday, as the latter is still based on the LEAP 3.0 platform.

Technology is the name of the game as the B10 features a LiDAR system powered by Qualcomm’s 8650 chip that computes the highway and urban driving pilot assistance functions.

A Qualcomm 8295 chip powers the customisable digital cockpit that is headlined by a cloud-based large model-powered voice assistant with AI integration to maximise convenience for occupants.

Design-wise, the B10 has short front and rear overhangs. The door handles are concealed in the name of reduced wind resistance.

It may be some time before driving impressions pop up, as no technical details have even been revealed just yet. That said, it should be worth the wait as Leapmotor engineers collaborated with fellow Stellantis-mate Maserati’s team to set up the chassis for a fine balance between comfort and control.

For now, performance details have yet to be revealed in any capacity. Pricing is estimated to range between 100,000 yuan and 150,000 yuan (RM60,600 – RM90,900) when it is launched globally in 2025.
