Naza Eastern Motors to debut new Suzuki models in Malaysia every year, focusing on SUVs

Naza Eastern Motors Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Suzuki cars in Malaysia is committing to launching new models every year. The announcement was made by Naza Eastern Motors Sdn Bhd COO, Mohamad Irwan Shahril at the Suzuki Jimny 5-door launch event on Tuesday. The company aims to introduce at least one new Suzuki model annually, focusing on the growing SUV market.

The expansion plan could potentially draw models from diverse SUV lineup. Models like the Grand Vitara, Fronx, Brezza, and Ignis could be strong contenders for the Malaysian market. This would allow Suzuki to tap into the growing SUV segment and offer a wider range of options to local consumers. Suzuki also has a plug-in hybrid offering, the Suzuki Across.

The company announcement of introducing new models annually demonstrates its strategic focus on adapting to the evolving automotive landscape. By expanding its product range, the company aims to cater to the diverse preferences of Malaysian consumers. Currently, Suzuki’s local lineup is limited, comprising only the Swift Sport and Jimny models.

The Malaysian-spec Swift Sport is available in a single automatic transmission variant, with a limited Silver Edition featuring additional cosmetic enhancements. The iconic Jimny is offered in both three-door and five-door configurations, both exclusively with a four-speed automatic transmission. A limited edition Rhino variant of the Jimny 3-door was previously introduced, with only 30 units produced.

The company’s focus on the SUV segment aligns with the broader market shift towards larger and more versatile vehicles. By expanding its SUV offerings, Suzuki aims to compete effectively in this highly competitive segment. The prospect of new Suzuki SUVs in the Malaysian market is likely to attract attention and drive interest in the brand.
