Just launched in Malaysia last week, the Neta X for the Malaysian market will be assembled in Thailand according to a report by CarNewsChina. Following its launch in Malaysia, the Neta X was launched in Thailand just a day after. The Thai-assembled Neta X will be sold in Thailand and exported to Malaysia.
The Neta X is Neta’s latest EV offering in Malaysia after the Neta V. It is a much larger SUV (compared to the Neta V) and rivals the likes of the BYD Atto 3, Chery Omoda E5, and the MG ZS EV. In Malaysia, it is sold in 3 variants, while in Thailand, it is sold in 2 variants. In Malaysia, its price ranges from RM119,888 to RM135,888.

All three variants of the Neta X in Malaysia are powered by the same front-wheel drive (FWD) single-motor setup that outputs 163 hp (metric) and 210 Nm. Not exactly a fast EV, it does the century sprint in 9.5 seconds, onward to a top speed of 150 km/h.
In Malaysia, the 400 Comfort and 400 Luxury are equipped with a smaller 52.49 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 401 km (NEDC). The 500 Luxury gets a larger 64.14 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 480 km (NEDC). All versions of the Neta X can only handle 6.6 kW AC charging (single phase) and an undetailed DC charging maximum rate. The former charges the car in about 9 hours while the latter charges the car from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
The Neta X for the Thai and Malaysian market will be produced at the Bangchan General Assembly plant and it will be joining the Neta V-II. Neta Malaysia plans to assemble its EVs locally (CKD) in Malaysia at its Rembau plant, but the facility is still under development.
