Smart Malaysia is set to launch the 2024 Smart #3 on July 10, 2024. The company recently posted a teaser on its social media page, hinting at a “big reveal” that is set to happen on the said date. With the car already previewed to the public during the recent Malaysia Autoshow 2024, all that is left to be revealed about the 2024 Smart #3 is its official price in Malaysia.
During its preview at Malaysia Autoshow 2024, the Smart # was confirmed to be available in three variants like the Smart #1. The 3 variants of the Smart #3 are the Pro, Premium, and the Brabus, in ascending order of hierarchy.
No estimated prices were revealed for the Smart #3 but we’re guessing it will be slightly pricier than the Smart #1 for all variants. In terms of dimensions, the Smart #3 is slightly bigger than the #1 all-around including its wheelbase. Thus it provides a slightly different driving characteristic besides the sleek coupe roofline.
The drive unit for the Smart #3 is exactly the same as the #1’s. The Pro and Premium get a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup that makes 200 kW and 343 Nm, allowing both variants to do the century sprint in 5.8 seconds. The Brabus, on the other hand, gets a dual-motor setup that makes 315 kW and 543 Nm which allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.7 seconds.
As for the battery and range, the Pro is the only variant to get an LFP battery with a capacity of 49 kWh. This gives the entry-level variant a range of 325 km on the WLTP test cycle. The Premium and Brabus each get a 66 kWh NCM battery that provides 455 km of range in the Premium and 415 km of range in the Brabus.
Inside, things are very similar to the Smart 31, albeit with some tweaks. The centre air vents are circular, and the Fox mascot has been replaced by a Cheetah mascot instead. The #3 also doesn’t get a sliding rear bench.
Already open for bookings since its debut at Malaysia Autoshow 2024, information on the Smart #3 can be found on the Hello Smart app. You could also configure the colour of the Smart #3 on the app and place your booking for a fee of RM1,000.
