Video: 2024 Jetour X70 Plus in Malaysia – to rival the Mazda CX-8 & Proton X90



The Jetour X70 Plus made its Malaysian debut at Malaysia Autoshow 2024. Showcased in two variants, namely the Prime and Signature, which are both 7-seaters, order books for the SUV have been opened.

Just in case you are not familiar with the Jetour brand, it is one of Chery’s sub-brands, just like Jaecoo. If you’re wondering where the Jetour X70 Plus is positioned, it is set to rival the likes of the Mazda CX-8 and Proton X90. However, its size is closer to the 7-seater CR-V, which isn’t available here in Malaysia. Learn more about it through our walkaround video below.

On the outside, the Jetour X70 in Malaysia is equipped with height-adjustable LED auto headlamps, LED tail lamps, a powered tailgate with memory function, and a roof rack. The Signature variant adds a 62-inch panoramic sunroof.

Powering the Jetour X70 Plus is a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 156 hp (metric) and 230 Nm. Paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), power is sent to the front wheels.

Inside the Jetour X70 Plus in Malaysia, you get a total of seven seats, with slidable second-row seats and stowable third-row seats. Standard interior equipment included here are such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, leather upholstery, and a 50 W wireless charging pad. There is also a 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat and a 4-way manual adjustable front passenger seat.

In terms of safety, the Jetour X70 Plus in Malaysia is equipped with active safety features such as front collision mitigation system, lane changing assist, rear cross-traffic alert, door open warning, and blind spot detection. There is also a 360° HD camera system and tyre pressure monitoring system.
