2024 Honda City Hatchback facelift launched in Malaysia, from RM86k – Honda Sensing as standard



Honda Malaysia has just launched the facelifted Honda City Hatchback. Priced from RM85,900, the B-segment hatchback is offered in five variants.

  • Honda City Hatchback RS – RM100,900
  • Honda City Hatchback e:HEV RS – RM112,900

On the outside, the Honda City Hatchback facelift in Malaysia gets a reworked exterior design. At the front, it now gets a new grille with a slightly different design than its sedan sibling, which got its facelift last year. Above the grille is a thinner black bar.

At the bottom of the City Hatchback’s front fascia is a new honeycomb-patterned lower intake, flanked by more aggressive-looking foglight housings. Round the back, you will find a new bumper and a redesigned rear diffuser to give the hatchback a sportier look.

To go with the new design, the Honda City Hatchback in Malaysia gets new wheel designs too. The S and E variants come with 15-inch alloys, while the V, RS, and e:HEV RS variants sport larger 16-inch units.

Like before, the Honda City Hatchback facelift in Malaysia is offered with two powertrain options. This includes the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine, paired to a CVT gearbox. This setup produces 121 hp (metric) and 145 Nm, which are sent to the front wheels.

The top-spec e:HEV RS variant is powered by Honda’s Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system featuring a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine. Mainly acting as a generator, the mill is paired with an electric motor, resulting in a system output of 109 hp (metric) and 253 Nm. Mated to a single-speed gearbox which Honda calls the e-CVT, power is sent to the front wheels only.

Moving inside, the Honda City facelift sports an interior design that is pretty much similar to its predecessor. Minor changes made here mainly include the blacked-out aircon vents and steering wheel trims, alongside a red garnish that extends from the front passenger side to the centre dashboard for the RS variants.
